4.3.3  How to Perform an Auto-Repeat Run

The following procedure explains how to program and perform an auto-repeat run.  If the system 

has been pre-programmed to perform an auto repeat run, follow the procedures in the AU2700 

Quick Response Guide.

The auto-repeat method involves pre-programming flags which will be used to generate repeat 

run requisitions.  A repeat range can be programmed for each test.  Any of the flags on the 

[Repeat Common] screen can be selected for repeat run analysis.  When a test generates a 

specified flag, it is automatically requisitioned for repeat analysis.  The white routine rack is 

fed back to the rack feeder area, and the entire rack goes back through the transport belt.  Only 

the tests which generated a repeat requisition will be performed.  Dilutions can be performed 

automatically.  Sample volumes can be programmed in volumes less than original volumes to 

perform “dilutions” or a pre-dilution rate can be set.
In the [Parameters], [System], [System] screen, if the “Auto/Standard Repeat” setting is set to 

“Auto” Repeat Run, and the [Parameters], [Repeat Parameters], [Repeat Common] screen is set 

to “Auto Repeat - Yes” the repeat-run sample is automatically extracted and the repeat run is 

performed according to the auto repeat-run extraction conditions set using [Parameters], [Repeat 

Parameters].  Once the system is programmed, repeats are performed automatically with no extra 

operator involvement.

Performing an Auto-Repeat Run

Warning

When running an “Auto Repeat Run”, if two racks with the same rack ID are processed in the same run, 

the data from the second rack will overwrite the data from the first rack, if “Repeat data overwrite” is 

checked in the [Repeat Common] screen.

Warning

Removing or repositioning samples/racks during an auto-repeat run may lead to concordance errors.  

Samples/Racks associated with auto-repeat testing should not be removed until analysis is complete 

and the racks have returned to the Collection area (Center location) of the rack feeder unit.

1.  From the main menu, select [Parameters], [System], [System].  
2.  Select function key F4 (set).  

3.  Use the pull-down menu by the “Auto/Standard Repeat” field and select “Auto.”

4.  Press function key F2 (exit) twice.
5.  From the main menu select [Parameters], [Repeat Parameters], [Repeat Common].

6.  Select function key F4 (set).  Select the box to the left of the Auto Repeat field on screen.
7.  Select any flag to generate repeat requisitions.  Flags can be set in one of the following 

categories.  
A.  The normal repeat mode uses the original sample volume to repeat the test.  
B.  The dilution repeat mode uses a smaller sample volume or the pre-dilution option 

to perform a dilution. Results are calculated and printed based on the dilution 

automatically.  

C.  The “OR mode” will requisition a repeat if any flag selected is generated.
