3.3 Selecting Menus and Items

This section describes the procedure used for selecting menus or items using the cursor on

the screen.

Selecting a Menu from the Menu Bar

There are two ways to select a menu from the menu bar. Use the arrow keys and Enter key, or

use the short cut keys.

Selecting a menu using the arrow keys and Enter key

1. Move the cursor onto a desired menu on the menu bar using the arrows on the keyboard.
2. Press the Enter key or the down arrows key.

A pull-down menu will be displayed.

Tip

In this stage the cursor can also be moved along the menu bar using the arrow keys. The cursor-

highlighted menu will open the pull-down menu automatically. This method is helpful for searching or

confirming the pull-down menu items.

3. Move the cursor onto a desired menu on the pull-down menu using the up or down arrow

keys.

4. Press the Enter key.

If the menu does not contain a submenu, the selected menu is

executed and the screen display changes. If the menu contains a submenu, perform steps

5 and 6.

5. Move the cursor onto a desired menu on the submenu using the up or down arrow keys.
6. Press the Enter key.

The selected menu is executed and the screen display changes.

Selecting a menu using the short cut keys

Letters or numbers are assigned to menu items on menu bars, pull-down menus, and submenus.

These letters and numbers are called shortcut keys. When the shortcut key is pressed, the

corresponding menu will be opened.

Exiting a Menu

To exit a menu, press function key F2.

Pressing the F2 key

If function key F2 key is pressed, the current screen will close.

Tip

The F2 key can only be used to close the current screen.
