Chapter C - Basic Operations

Automated Chemistry Analyzer

AU2700 User's Guide

May, 2002

6. Use function key F5 (previous control test) and function key F6 (next control test) to look

at other QC test charts.

7.  Select function key F3 (print) to print statistics, data, graphs, or comments.
8.  Optional Step:  Select function key F4 (comment) if you want to enter a comment.
9.  After checking the chart, press function key F2 (exit).

The main screen returns.

Twin Plot Chart

Before viewing charts, look up QC alarms using the alarm help function and check the QC

samples listed on the printout for error flags. If an alarm or error flag occurs, correct the

problem. QC samples must be run with no flags or alarms before routine sample results are

valid.

In quality control, usually a normal control and an abnormal control are used. The following

figure shows a two-dimensional plot with the normal control on the x-axis and the abnormal

control on the y-axis.

When the normal and abnormal controls are within a control limit, and both samples are high

values or low values, perform a calibration to determine system errors. If the high value of

an abnormal control is low, reagent deterioration may be the cause. The twin plot offers the

advantage of classifying problems as either a system error or a random error. To be used, it

must be programmed for multi-rule control procedures to determine if a drift is occurring or if

the reagent is unstable.
