Processing a Priority Sample using the STAT Table

Important

The 22 outer positions on the STAT table are assigned to STAT, repeat, reagent blank, calibration, or QC

functions in the [System Maintenance] menu. Verify which positions can be used for serum, urine, or

other priority STAT analysis on the analyzer.

1. From the main menu select [Routine], [Test Requisition], and [Normal], in that order.

The

screen for requisitioning normal analysis is displayed.

2. From the “S. No.” field, type “P,” then enter.

The next available priority sample number

will display.

3. From the “Type” field, use the pull-down menu to select serum, urine, or other.
4. Requisition tests individually, by profile, or batch. If requisitions are required for more

than one sample type, select function key F2 (exit) to return to “Type.”

5. Press the STAT button to turn the STAT SET LED on. The STAT SET LED must be on

before STATS can be loaded. Do not load samples if the SET LED blinks or does not

come on. The SET LED turns on when loading is possible. If necessary, press the STAT

ROTATION/DIAG Button to rotate to the appropriate position to load samples.

6. Place the sample in a position assigned for the sample type on the table.

If STATS are not

barcoded, they must always be placed in increasing numerical order on the table! Always

remove STATS from the table as soon as the END LED is on.

Warning

Close the STAT table cover after placing samples. A consistent temperature in the STAT table is

important to the accuracy of the results.

7. Press the STAT Button.

Analysis starts.

8. The END LED comes on when STAT sample aspiration is complete. Remove containers

from the STAT table.
