INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM [KL]
Intake Manifold Removal Note
Warning
• Fuel vapor is hazardous. It can very easily
ignite, causing serious injury and damage.
Always keep sparks and flames away from
fuel.
• Fuel line spills and leaks are dangerous.
Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries
or death and damage. Fuel can also irritate
skin and eyes. To prevent this, always
complete the “BEFORE REPAIR
PROCEDURE” (Refer to 01-14 BEFORE
REPAIR PROCEDURE.).
• To remove the intake manifold, remove the fuel
distributor.
Intake Manifold Installation Note
• To install the intake manifold gasket, make sure
that the convex side of gasket is faced to the
intake manifold side.
IDLE AIR CONTROL (IAC) VALVE INSPECTION [KL]
1. Verify that the ignition switch is OFF.
2. Disconnect the IAC valve connector.
3. Measure the resistance between the IAC valve
terminal by using an ohmmeter.
Resistance
8.7— 10.5 Q [24 °C {7 5 °F}]

4. If not as specified, replace the IAC valve.
INTAKE MANIFOLD COMPONENT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY [KL]
1. Disassemble in the order indicated in the table.
2. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.
