TROUBLESHOOTING [EXTERIOR LIGHTING SYSTEM]
STEP
INSPECTION ACTION
Remove nuts to move main fuse block to the
side.
Measure voltage at terminals A and E at
headlight high relay connector.
Is voltage B+?

Yes
Go to next step.
No Repair wiring harness between headlight (high beam) and
headlight high relay.
Turn headlight switch to OFF.
Inspect headlight high relay.

INSPECTION
Is headlight high relay okay?
Yes Repair wiring harness between headlight high relay and
ground.___________________________________________
No
Replace headlight high relay.
b zr 0 9-18 HEADLIGHT HIGH RELAY
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Remove driver’s side front scuff plate.
Remove driver’s side front side trim.
Measure voltage at terminal 4K at CPU
connector D of wiring harness.
Is voltage B+?
Yes
Replace CPU.
tr 0 9-18 CPU REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Go to next step.
No
Repair wiring harness between headlight high relay and
CPU, then go to next step.

Turn headlight switch to second position.
Set dimmer switch to LO.
Measure voltage at terminal 4H at CPU
connector D of wiring harness.
Is voltage 0 V?
Yes Replace CPU.

Go to next step.

Remove column cover.
Inspect light switch (headlight switch).

Is light switch (headlight switch) okay?
Yes
Repair wiring harness between light switch (headlight
switch) and ground. ______________
No
