STEP INSPECTION
ACTION
6 CHECK FTP SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT
TO CONSTANT VOLTAGE CIRCUIT IN
SENSOR OR HARNESS
• Key off.
• FTP sensor disconnected.
• Disconnected PCM. Inspect for damaged
or pushed out pins, corrosion and loose
wires. Service as necessary.
• Install breakout box, leave PCM
disconnected.
Yes FTP sensor ground in FTP sensor or FTP signal circuit is
shorted to constant voltage circuit in FTP sensor.
REPLACE damaged FTP sensor.
REMOVE breakout box. RECONNECT all components.
RECORD and REMEMBER this Pinpoint Test Step Go to
next step then RETURN to Pinpoint Test Step that directed
you here. RESET PCM to completely clear DTCs.

? After Repair Procedure
COMPLETE OBD II Drive Mode.
RERUN OBD Test.
• Measure resistance between Test Pin 62
and Test Pin 90 at breakout box.
• Is resistance greater that 10,000 ohms?
No SERVICE harness short between FTP signal and constant
voltage.
REMOVE breakout box.
RECONNECT all components.
RESET PCM to completely clear DTCs.
w After Repair Procedure
COMPLETE OBD II Drive Mode.
RERUN OBD Test.
7 EVAPORATIVE SYSTEM RE-CHECK
• RESET PCM to completely clear DTCs.
D" After Repair Procedure
• COMPLETE OBD II Drive Mode.
• Is MIL illuminated?
Yes
ISOLATE pressure leak in evaporative emission system
(vacuum/fuel vapor hose connections, cracked/split
hoses, damaged components.
SERVICE as necessary.
VERIFY symptom no longer exists.
RESET PCM to completely clear DTCs.

RERUN OBD Test.
