STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1
Turn ignition switch to ON.
Does O/D OFF indicator light (illuminate/go out)
correspond to O/D OFF switch position
(ON/OFF)?
Yes Go to next step.
No Perform malfunction diagnosis according to No.39 “O/D
OFF INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN
O/D OFF SWITCH IS TURNED ON”, or No.40 “O/D OFF
INDICATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATES WHEN O/D OFF
SWITCH IS NOT TURNED ON”.

Check the ATF color and condition.

Condition Inspection
Are ATF color and odor normal?
Yes Go to next step.
No Repair or replace any defective parts.
3 Perform the line pressure test.

Is line pressure okay?
Yes
Go to next step.
No Repair or replace any defective parts.
4 Perform the stall test.

Is stall speed okay?
Yes
Go to next step.
No Repair or replace any defective parts.
5 Check the voltage at the following terminals of
powertrain control module.

- 01—40A POWERTRAIN CONTROL
MODULE (PCM) INSPECTION [FS]
• Throttle position sensor signal
• Transaxle fluid temperature sensor signal
• Speedometer signal
Is terminal voltage okay?
Yes Perform symptom troubleshooting.
No Repair or replace nay defective parts.
