INTERLOCK CABLE INSPECTION
1. Remove the interlock cable and lock unit.
2. With the slider pin protrusion (dimension A) as
specified below, verify that the interlock cable
moves freely in the lock unit.

3. If not as specified, replace the interlock cable.
4. Install the interlock cable and lock unit. (Refer to
05-18 SELECTOR LEVER AND CABLE
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
SELECTOR LEVER INSPECTION
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (engine OFF).
2. With the brake pedal depressed, verify that there
is a “click” at each range when shifted in the
pattern shown.
3. Verify that the selector lever can only be shifted as
shown.
4. Verify that the position of the selector lever and
the indicator are aligned.

5. If not as specified, adjust the indicator panel.
(Refer to 05-18 INDICATOR PANEL
ADJUSTMENT.)
6. Start the engine.
7. Verify that the vehicle operates in each selected
range.
