ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM
FRONT ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
2. Install in the reverse order of removal.

FRONT ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR INSPECTION
• Remove the wheel and tire, and inspect the
sensor for looseness and damage. Replace the
sensor as necessary.
Clearance Inspection
• Inspect for clearance between the wheel-speed
sensor and the sensor rotor.

1.3— 2.0 mm {0.0512— 0.0787 in}

Resistance Inspection
1. Disconnect the ABS wheel-speed sensor
connector.
2. Inspect for resistance at the ABS wheel-speed
sensor.
Resistance
1.28— 1.92 k ii
Voltage Inspection
1. On level ground, jack up the vehicle and support it
evenly on safety stands.
2. Disconnect the ABS wheel-speed sensor
connector.
3. Inspect each wheel by rotating it at one revolution
per second.
Voltage
0.23 V min. (AC)
4. If not as specified, replace the ABS wheel-speed
sensor.
