Bolt Installation Note
•
Tighten the bolts In the order shown In the figure.

Warning
•
Handling the air bag module improperly
can accidently deploy the air bag module
which may cause serious injury. Read AIR
BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS before
handling the air bag module. (Refer to
08 -1 0 AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE
WARNINGS.)
1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for
more than
1 minute
to allow the backup power
supply of the SAS unit to deplete its stored power.
3. Remove the glove compartment.
4. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
5. Install in the reverse order of removal.
6. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
7. Verify that the air bag system warning light
illuminates for
approximately 6 seconds
then
goes off.
8. If the air bag system warning light remains on,
remains off, or continuously flashes after service,
there are malfunctions in the system. Repeat
inspection again. (Refer to 0 8 -0 1 A AIR BAG
SYSTEM ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS.)

CLOCK SPRING ADJUSTMENT
1. Set the front wheels straight ahead.
Caution
•
The clock spring will break if overwound.
Do not force the clock spring when turning
it.
2. Turn the clock spring clockwise until it stops.
