INSPECTION FUEL FILLER PIPE
• Remove fuel filler pipe and visually inspect
fuel filler pipe for damage.
• Is fault detected?
Yes
REPLACE fuel filler pipe.
RECONNECT all components.
RESET PCM to completely clear DTCs.

RERUN OBD Test.
No
RECONNECT all components.
Go to next step.

INSPECTION OF FUEL TANK
• Remove fuel tank and visually inspect for
damage.
• Visually inspect for insufficient sealing or
poorly attached accessories on fuel tank,
(fuel gauge.)
•
Is fault detected?
Yes
SERVICE or REPLACE fuel tank or sealing.
RECONNECT all components.
RESET PCM to completely clear DTCs.

COMPLETE OBD II Drive Mode.
RERUN OBD Test.
No
RECONNECT all components.
Go to next step.

CHECK FOR CANISTER DRAIN CUT VALVE
(CDCV)
• Key off.
• Remove CDCV.
• Confirm CDCV is not damaged, and that air
vents is tight when at ON.
• Is fault detected?
Yes
REPLACE CDCV.
RECONNECT all components.
RESET PCM to completely clear DTCs.

RERUN OBD Test.
No
Inspect and repair any detached, incorrectly installed or
cracked hoses between charcoal canister to CDCV.
RECONNECT all components.
RESET PCM to completely clear DTCs.

Evaporative emission control system purge solenoid valve circuit malfunction
DESCRIPTION
» DTC P0443 indicates failure in purge solenoid valve circuit
[Possible Cause]
• Power circuit open
• Damaged purge solenoid valve
• Purge solenoid valve signal open in harness
• Damaged PCM
• Purge solenoid valve signal circuit short to power ground

CHECK PURGE SOLENOID VALVE POWER
CIRCUIT
Note
• If DTC P0443 was generated in continuous
memory only, go to step 5.
• Key off.
• Disconnect purge solenoid valve.
• Key on, engine off.
• Measure voltage between power circuit at
purge solenoid valve vehicle harness
connector and battery ground.
• Is voltage greater than 10.5 volts?
Yes
Go to next step.
No
SERVICE open in power circuit harness circuit.
RECONNECT all components.
VERIFY symptom no longer exists.
RESET PCM to completely clear DTCs.

CHECK PURGE SOLENOID VALVE
RESISTANCE
• Key
off.
• Purge solenoid valve disconnected.
• Measure resistance between purge
solenoid valve signal and power circuit
circuits at purge solenoid valve.
• Is resistance between

and
35
ohms?
Yes
Go to next step.
No
REPLACE purge solenoid valve.
VERIFY symptom no longer exists.
RESET PCM to completely clear DTCs.
