Test Ports
Numbered test port connectors:
●
For the R&S
ZNBT8 these are type N female connectors. Depending on the equip-
ped options there are 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 or 24 test ports.
●
For the R&S
ZNBT20 these are 3.5 mm male connectors. Depending on the equip-
ped options there are 8, 12, 16, 20 or 24 test ports.
The test ports serve as outputs for the RF stimulus signal and as inputs for the mea-
sured RF signals from the DUT (response signals). With a single test port, it is possible
to generate a stimulus signal and measure the response signal in reflection. For a
measurement example refer to
Chapter 3.4.2, "Reflection S-Parameter Measurement"
on page 73. With more than one test port it is possible to perform full two-port, 3-
port, ... , or n-port measurements; see
Maximum input levels
The maximum input levels at all test ports according to the front panel labeling or the
data sheet must not be exceeded.
In addition, the maximum input voltages of the other input connectors at the rear panel
must not be exceeded.
It is recommended that you use a torque wrench when screwing RF cables on the test
port connectors.
Connector usage
Two LEDs next to each test port indicate the connector usage:
●
on: connector is used as a source port
●
on: connector is used as a receive port
●
both LEDs on: connector is used as a bidirectional (source and receive) port
