Background information
Refer to the following sections:
●
●
Chapter 4.5.5, "Automatic Calibration"
●
Chapter 4.5.6, "Scalar Power Calibration"
●
●
The "Start... (Cal Unit)" buttons are only active if a calibration unit is connected to the
analyzer.
It is possible to set up, perform and activate multiple system error corrections or
SMARTerCals in a single calibration procedure. However, this
feature is disabled by default and has to be activated in the "Calibration"
tab of the System Config dialog.
To prevent the VNA firmware from running out of memory, after performing a full n-port
calibration of more than 4 test ports (see
Chapter 4.7.20, "External Switch Matrices"
on page 226) the number of sweep points is automatically reduced.
Depending on the number of calibrated ports, the following reduction applies:
●
1 - 4 ports: no reduction
●
5 - 8 ports: reduction to 6001
●
9 - 16 ports: reduction to 2001
●
16 - 32 Ports: reduction to 801
●
> 32 Ports: reduction to 401
If the number of sweep points is actually reduced, an information popup box indicates
the reduction:
If you need a higher number of sweep points, it is recommended reduce the number of
ports. The "Balanced Ports..." button in the popup opens the
that allows you set some ports to "Unused".
