Directory Dialing Mailbox
Lets Automated Attendant callers press a dialpad key to route their own calls. A Directory
Dialing Mailbox functions much like a Call Routing Mailbox (see above). The difference
between the two mailbox types lies in the way that they handle name-dialing
—
accessing an
extension or mailbox by dialing its programmed name). A Directory Dialing Mailbox lets a
caller name-dial right away, while a Call Routing Mailbox requires that a caller dial the code
for name-dialing before dialing the extension or mailbox name.
The Directory Dialing Message tells the caller what name to dial. A sample message might be:
For customer service, dial S-E-R-V.
