Options (cont’d)
Self Test
The value in the Self Test check box determines whether this feature will be enabled or dis-
abled. If enabled, the Voice Mail will perform a two-part test at regular intervals as follows:
1. After taking the port off-hook, the Voice Mail will listen for dial tone. If no dial tone
exists, this would constitute a test failure.
2 . But if a dial tone exists, the Voice Mail will dial a digit on the port to see whether the digit
will break the tone. If the dial tone does not get broken, this would constitute a test failure.
Callouts
Callouts includes three check boxes: Allow Lamp, Allow Notification/Wake-Up, and
Allow Network.
Allow Lamp
The value in the Allow Lamp check box determines whether this feature will be enabled or
disabled. When enabled, the port will be used for updating (turning on or off) the Message
Waiting lamps at the extensions.
