Key Action (cont’d)
Unscreened Transfer to an Extension
Lets a caller make an unscreened transfer to a Subscriber, Guest, or Message Center extension
by pressing a dialpad key or by dialing the extension number.
If the transfer is incomplete, the telephone system programming dictates where the call goes. If
the phone system is programmed to send incomplete transfers back to the Voice Mail, the
caller will hear the extension status message and the dialing options described before in
Screened Transfer to an Extension.
Entries:
UTRF
Notes:
Since the phone system handles the final routing of the call, this
system must provide integration information on a recall or unscreened
forwarding. The system must also provide the proper extension status
integration information.
To promote a one-key unscreened transfer to a specific extension, enter
the extension number in the Number field. The Voice Mail can also
perform a UTRF to a number not in the extension numbering plan.
To promote dialed unscreened transfers to all two-digit extensions that
begin with the digit 1, enter UTRF in the Action field for Key 1 and
enter XX in the Number field, so that your DAT for Key 1 will read:
Key 1: Action: UTRF
Number: XX
If the caller dials an invalid mailbox number, the Voice Mail will
reroute the call by using the Answering Schedule Table assigned to the
port that is handling the caller’s trunk.
To block Auto Attendant transfers to a Subscriber Mailbox and/or to
assign a Next Call Routing Mailbox to a Subscriber Mailbox or Mes-
sage Center Mailbox, select Mailbox Options on the Customize menu.
To let a caller transfer to a Subscriber, Guest, or Message Center Mail-
box and then immediately leave a message, make sure that you do not
assign an extension number to those mailboxes.
To record for one of these mailboxes a name that will play instead of
the extension number in the extension status message, use the System
Administrator Menu from your extension.
Some Voice Mail features require that the Voice Mail perform a TRF to
accomplish them. If this applies to your system, program the DAT to
make TRFs all transfers to extensions and then check Forced Un-
screened Transfers for the extensions that will be the targets of any
UTRFs.
