Paging Message
The NT Voice Mail can park (temporarily hold) an Automated Attendant caller who is trying to
reach a Subscriber and then page the Subscriber.
If Paging Message is on, the NT Voice Mail will play over a page zone in the phone system
the paging message recorded by the Subscriber, without ringing the Subscriber’s extension.
John Smith’s paging message might be: John Smith, you have a call at your extension.
If Paging Message is off, however, the NT Voice Mail will call the Subscriber’s extension. If
the extension does not answer, the NT Voice Mail will tell the caller: Extension XXX (or
name) does not answer. Then the NT Voice Mail will let the caller leave a message, page the
Subscriber, or select other routing options.
Once the paging message plays, the extension user can pick up the call from any extension by
dialing the Meet-Me-Answer (Page) Code for the telephone system.
Recording and Sending a Message
There are many ways in which users can record and send a message:
Q
After they call an extension through the Automated Attendant and can't get through.
Q
After they make an Intercom call and can't get through.
Q
After they call the Automated Attendant, without calling the extension of the person they
are trying to reach
Q
By calling their own mailboxes.
After they record the message, they simply enter the mailbox numbers to receive the mes-
sage, up to 10. Or they can send the message to a pre-programmed Distribution List,
which can contain any number of mailboxes. With Distribution Lists, a user has to enter
only the Distribution Mailbox Number to send the message to every mailbox on the list.
