Notification Number 1-3 (cont’d)
Call Type
This option lets you enter the Call type for the notification number. Normally, the Voice Mail
looks at the number of digits in the notification number, and enters the Call Type (internal,
local, or long distance) for you. However, in some cases, the Voice Mail may enter the wrong
call type. This will happen when, for example, the notification number is a Speed Dial code
for a long distance call. The Voice Mail sees this code as an Internal call because it is less than
five digits. In actuality, it is a long distance call. In this case, you would have to enter
LD
for
the Call type.
This option prevents the Voice Mail from assigning the wrong call type to a notification num-
ber.
A
— Analyzed pause (The Voice Mail pauses 4 sec, dials next digit only
if no busy/reorder tone. If busy/reorder tone, the Voice Mail termi-
nates call.)

• The user can enter the notification numbers and the special codes through

• If the telephone system is programmed for voice-announced Intercom calls
and the desired notification number is an extension, enter a 1 after the
extension number. This makes Message Notification calls ring the exten-
sion. For example, to have the Voice Mail ring extension 13, enter 131 for
the notification number.
