Delay (rings or seconds) before Redirect Transfer
This field sets the number of times or seconds a screened transfer rings an extension before the
system retrieves the call and tells the caller of other available dialing options (e.g., To leave a
message, press 1).
The type of voice card (Dialogic or Rhetorex) that is installed in the Voice Mail determines
whether the delay is measured in rings or seconds.Directory List
Directory List to Use
This list code determines the extensions (or mailboxes) that a caller can name-dial from this Call
Routing Mailbox. For more information on name-dialing from a Directory Dialing Call Mailbox,
Directory Dialing by First/Last Name on page 138.

A Call Routing Mailbox that is programmed for an Extension Name Directory.

All versions of the NT Voice Mail.

Notes:
•
A screened transfer will not ring an extension at all if:
— The extension's Mailbox Greeting or Paging Message is on. To
turn it off, see the User's Guide.
— The Subscriber extension blocks Automated Attendant transfers.
To allow Auto Attendant transfers, disable the Subscriber Mail-
box option called Block Auto Attendant on page 298.
— Status Monitor is enabled and the extension is busy, not
installed, or in Do Not Disturb. See Status Monitor in Customiz-
ing Port Options on page 306.

If a screened transfer rings an extension fewer times or seconds than pro-
grammed in this field, you must increase one or both of the following
telephone system timers: Hold Recall and/or the Rings Before Recall.

To create and customize all the mailboxes that a caller should be able to
name-dial, use Creating and Accessing Mailboxes on page 168. Be
sure to assign a name and Directory List to each.

To let a caller name-dial a Subscriber extension, see Directory List on
page 268, for Message Center extension, see Directory List on
page 244, for Guest extensions, see Directory List on page 212. Be
sure to assign an extension number to those mailboxes.
