Lamp Strings (cont’d)
Off
This string is used by the phone system to turn off the Message Lamp at an extension.
Miscellaneous Strings
The Miscellaneous Strings option includes the following strings: Hang Up, Call Pickup,
Ringdown, and Off Hook Call Announce.
Hang Up
Hang Up is a string of codes that causes the Voice Mail to terminate a call by hanging up.

Up to 20 digits including the codes below:
F - Flash
W - Wait for dial tone
S - Wait for any type of sound
P - Pause (After a 2 sec pause, the Voice Mail dials the next digit.)
M - Monitored pause (After a 2 sec pause, the Voice Mail dials the next
digit if no busy/reorder. Otherwise, Voice Mail ends the call.)
A - Analyzed pause (After a 4 sec pause, the Voice Mail dials the next
digit if no busy/reorder. Otherwise, Voice Mail ends the call.)
X - The Voice Mail replaces the “X” with an extension number, so that
the Voice Mail will know which extension should have its lamp
turned on.
G - Number of messages in a mailbox. (This number appears on any
Display Phones that can show the number of messages in the mail-
box.)

Any Lamp Off string must include an “X.”
