NT System Guide

Chapter 3: Programming

Hold Retrieval Strings (cont’d)

RNA

RNA is the string of codes that the Voice Mail will dial to remove from Hold any unanswered 
Automated Attenant screened transfer. Then the Automated Attendant will be able to further 
process the call. 

 

Busy

Busy is the string of codes that the Voice Mail will dial to remove from Hold any unanswered 
Automated Attenant screened transfer to a busy extension. Then the Automated Attendant will 
be able to further process the call. 

 

Default:

Depends on the telephone system installed.

Entries:

None
Up to 20 digits including the codes below.
Enter the string used by your phone system to remove a call from Hold.
F   -  Flash
W -  Wait for dial tone
S   -  Wait for any type of sound
P   -  Pause (After a 2 sec pause, the Voice Mail dials the next digit.)
M -  Monitored pause (After a 2 sec pause, the Voice Mail dials the next 

digit if no busy/reorder. Otherwise, Voice Mail ends the call.)

A -  Analyzed pause (After a 4 sec pause, the Voice Mail dials the next
