Advanced Setup Options for the NT Voice Mail
This section explains how to:
Q
Configure a computer at a remote location for accessing the NT Voice Mail through a modem.
(This setup assumes you have already connected the Voice Mail’s internal modem, see page 9).
Q
Connect the NT Voice Mail to your LAN.
To program this Voice Mail, you need to have a good working knowledge of Windows NT (includ-
ing its operation and terminology). In addition, contact your LAN Administrator/Manager when
connecting the NT Voice Mail to your LAN.
Configure a Computer at the Remote Location
You can use a computer at a different location to access the NT Voice Mail (using the Voice Mail’s
internal modem). This set up is useful for troubleshooting and programming purposes. You access
the NT through a program called Remote Access Service (RAS) which serves as a Remote Connec-
tion Manager. RAS is set up and configured for you at the factory. It does not require any addi-
tional configuration.
The NT Voice Mail Server has been configured at the factory for a user account and permissions
specific to this application. (Specifics are provided in the following procedure). It is recommended
that you maintain these factory configurations unless you have experience in NT System Adminis-
tration.
Note:
It is highly recommended that the computer at the remote location must have Windows NT
operating software as well as a modem that is already installed and configured for use.
