NT System Guide

Usi ng the Real Tr ace

Real Trace

You can use the Real Trace feature to see all, some, or only one of the trace messages and/or events
as they are happening. You can also select how you want to display these real-time trace messages/
events: by port number or by mailbox number.

You can display a real trace while your Voice Mail system is processing calls. You can also display
a real trace while you are doing any of the following:

Q

using

to monitor your port activities

Q

using the

to view your Trace (historical) database

Q

changing system programming

Q

customizing all of the items that you can select from the Customize menu shown below.

In addition, you can switch back and forth between a real trace and any of the functions listed
above, without losing any of your settings on the real trace.

To start the Real Trace feature and display a real trace that is similar
to the one shown on the next page:

Click the

icon on the menu bar, or select Trace on the View menu.
