Message Playback Direction
Sets the preferred playback order for messages in a mailbox. The playback order may be either
FIFO or LIFO:

FIFO
(first in, first out) plays messages in the order that they were left, starting with the
oldest
message

LIFO
(last in, first out) plays messages in the reverse order that they were left, starting
with the most recent message.

Select FIFO or LIFO as your preferred Message Playback Direction.
Message Retention
Determines how many days the NT Voice Mail will retain any new, held, or saved message in a
mailbox. The retention time can range from 1 to 90 days, or the Voice Mail can retain a mes-
sage indefinitely. If Message Retention is set for a certain number of days, the NT Voice Mail
will remove messages from the mailbox after this time expires.

Enter a value (1

90 or I for indefinitely) in the Message Retention box.
Message Storage Limit
Sets the maximum number of messages that a mailbox can store. The storage limit can range
from 1 to 1000 messages. This feature applies to Subscriber, Guest, Message Center, and
Future Delivery Mailboxes.

Message Waiting Lamp
Flashes at an extension, when there are new messages in the extension's mailbox.
