Use No Welcome Message
Instead of using either the default Welcome Message or recording your own, you may prefer to use
no Welcome Message at all. In this case, outside callers will hear no greeting or list of call-routing
instructions after they dial into your Voice Mail system.
To use the default Welcome Message:
1.
From the Voice Mail Main Screen, click Customize on the menu bar, and select Mailbox
Options on the Customize menu.
2.
Select Edit on the Mailbox Options menu.
3.
On the Mailbox Range dialog box:
Enter into the Start Number box the number of the Call Routing Mailbox you used in Step 6 of
the above procedure, and click the OK button.
4.
Click to select the Call Handling tab.
5.
Make sure that a
appears in the Play Default Messages check box.
This is the default setting for Play Default Messages.
6.
Click the OK button.
To record a Welcome Message:
1.
Log onto a System Administrator Mailbox.
2.
Dial the Security Code, if required.
3.
Press S A (7 2) for the System Administrator Menu.
4.
Press W (9) for the Welcome Message.
5.
Follow the voice prompts for recording the Welcome Message.
6.
When finished: Dial the number of the Call Routing Mailbox to which the DAT is assigned.
Your Welcome Message will now override the default Welcome Message, regardless of the
current setting for Play Default Messages.
To use no Welcome Message:
1.
From the Voice Mail Main Screen, click Customize on the menu bar, and select Mailbox
Options on the Customize menu.
2.
Select Edit on the Mailbox Options menu.
3.
On the Mailbox Range dialog box:
Enter into the Start Number box the number of the Call Routing Mailbox that you are using,
and click the OK button.
4.
Click to select the Call Handling tab.
5.
Remove the
from the Play Default Messages check box.
6.
Click the OK button.
