3. To set the polarity of each GPI input port, press

GPI Input Polarity Menu
• The Main Area provides a mini “help” message.
• The Label Area provides access to additional GPI setup menus.
• The Scroll Area provides two functions that are controlled by their respective
Scroll Knobs :
~ The
GPI Input
knob selects the GPI input (
1
to
10
) for which you want to set
the polarity.
~ The
Polarity
knob selects the input polarity —
Low
or
High
.
4. Using the information from the
Polarity
column in your Standard GPI Input
Worksheet , assign a polarity to each GPI input (that you set up in step 3 above).
• When
Low
is assigned, the incoming GPI line is normally high. The selected GPI
triggers when the line goes low (to ground).
• When
High
is assigned, the incoming GPI line is normally low. The selected GPI
triggers when the line goes high (released from ground).
Refer to the Installation Manual for your source device for details on the specific type
of GPI pulse that the device provides.
5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 for each remaining GPI input.
This completes the procedure for setting up standard GPI ports.
Programming Standard GPI Outputs
Use the following procedure to set up your standard GPI outputs:
1. Navigate to the GPI I/O Setup Menu as follows:
• Press HOME B MORE B Setup B Installation B GPI I/O .
2. Each standard GPI output can be named, to represent the function that it will actually
control — such as PrevStil (select previous still) or Roll VTR . To name GPI outputs,
press Name Outputs . The GPI Name Outputs Menu appears.
