Configuring the Outputs
Every Synergy Q/MD switcher comes standard with 16 multi-definition serial digital outputs.
Outputs are configured using the Synergy Q/MD menu system, and can be used as MLE Program,
MLE Preview, MLE Clean Feed, Preview Overlay, MixDSK, MultiDSK, Aux Buses, or AuxKeys.
Your configuration will depend largely on which options have been purchased.
Setting Up General Outputs
The Output Menu allows you to associate physical BNC connectors with output types . These
associations play important roles throughout the system, particularly with regard to filtering
subsequent output setup menus based on specific output types.
Use the following procedure to set your Output BNCs:
1. Navigate to the Output Menu 1-2 as follows:

to display the Output BNCs Menu .

3. Use the Output knob to select an Output BNC to assign a type to. It is best to proceed in
ascending order (lowest to highest numbered connector).
Note Before you begin, ensure that you have completed your Output
Worksheet . Refer to the section “ Output Worksheet ” on page 8-2 for
instructions.
Note If you have the Mix/DSK, MultiDSK or AuxKeys options installed,
certain Output BNCs will be locked to specific outputs. In some cases,
only these outputs can be used for the output of this option. Refer to
the section “
Mix/DSK Option ” on page 8-10, the section “ MultiDSK
Option ” on page 8-12, the section “ Mix/MultiDSK ” on page 8-14, or
the section “ AuxKeys Option ” on page 8-15 for more information.
Note Output BNCs on Video Output Boards that are not installed on the
frame appear gray. You can still select one of those BNCs but a
warning message will appear indicating it is not installed.
