AuxKeys Option
The AuxKeys™ option can be used as either an A/B Mixer (Mix between two inputs on an Aux Bus)
or a Mixer/Keyer (Mix and AutoSelect Key). Switcher outputs are assigned to AuxKeys in groups of
four. Mix or Key operations can be previewed and clean feed is also available, similar to a standard
MLE. Refer to Chapter 7, “
Keying ” in the Synergy Q/MD/X Operator’s Manual for more
information on using the AuxKeys option.
The AuxKeys option allows you to assign and lock certain BNCs on the Output Board to the main
switcher outputs. The BNCs on each Output Board are separated into groups of 4. Assigning one of
these groups to either Aux Keys or Aux Mix/Keys locks the first few BNCs in that group, depending
on which option you select.
An example of possible Output BNC assignments are as follows:
Aux Mixer Example :
• Output #B09 — This output is locked to Aux Program .
• Output #B10 — This output is locked to Aux Preview .
Aux Mix/Keyer Example :
• Output #B09 — This output is locked to Aux Program .
• Output #B10 — This output is locked to Aux Program .
• Output #B11 — This output is locked to Aux Preview .
• Output #B12 — This output is locked to Aux Clean Feed .
AuxKeys Setup
Use the following procedure to turn the AuxKeys option on:
1. Navigate to the Output Menu as follows:
• Press
HOME B MORE B Setup B Installation B Output
.
Important
AuxKeys cannot be used to pass or manipulate non-native video
format signals. If you are using an Aux Bus as a video pass-through for
a non-native video format signal, you will not be able apply AuxKeys
to that Aux Bus
Important Do not use an Aux Bus that is already configured for the
SmartConversion™ option. If you do, you will receive an error
message when selecting a source on that Aux Bus. Refer to Chapter 13,
“
SmartConversion™ ” for more information on configuring
SmartConversion™.
