Standard Shift Crosspoint Buses
The
Shift
function allows you to access a second layer of crosspoint buttons. For example, on a
Synergy 2 Q/MD
control panel, the last button in a bus row is
17
. When the
Shift
function is applied
to this button, pressing and holding it will allow you to access crosspoint buttons
18
through
33
.
The
Shift
function allows you to access the following crosspoint buttons:
•
Synergy 1 Q/MD
: Button
17
through
31
•
Synergy 1.5 Q/MD
: Button
18
through
33
•
Synergy 2 Q/MD
: Button
18
through
33
•
Synergy 2.5 Q/MD
: Button
31
through
59
Use the following procedure to access a shifted crosspoint:
1. Press and hold the
SHIFT
button on the crosspoint bus you want to access the shifted
crosspoint on.
2. Press the
Crosspoint
button you want to select.
3. Release both buttons.
Both the
Crosspoint
button and
SHIFT
buttons will remain lit.
This completes the procedure for accessing a shifted crosspoint.
Reverse Key Shift
Reverse Key Shift provide access to the shifted crosspoint bus, just as the Standard Shift function
does, but for the Key buses, it makes the
SHIFT
button act as if it is always being pressed. For
example, on
MLE 1
of a
Synergy 2 Q/MD
switcher, if you press
Button 1
on the
BKGD
bus, you
will be selecting
Crosspoint Button 1
(typically Black). If you press the corresponding button on the
Key
bus, you will be selecting
Crosspoint Button 18
, and the
SHIFT
button on the
Key
bus will be
lit.
Naming a Bus Map
By default, the user configurable bus maps have names such as
Map001
. It is good practice to rename
your edited bus maps to something more meaningful to help you identify specific mappings at a later
date.
Note
It is possible to assign the
Shift
function to any crosspoint button(s). If
you assign multiple
SHIFT
buttons, they will be lit when a shifted
crosspoint is used.
Note
If you press another
Crosspoint
button, you will select an unshifted
crosspoint and the
SHIFT
button will not be lit.
Note
When using Reverse Key Shift, the crosspoints on the Key bus are
Shifted, and the ones on the BKGD and PST buses are not. The name
REV SHIFT
is shown on the mnemonic for the
SHIFT
button when
Reverse Key Shift is active.
