• Use the
Bank
knob to select the custom control bank you want to record the custom
control to.
• Use the
Button
knob to select the custom control button that you want to record a
custom control macro to. You can also press the desired button directly on the
control panel. Remember that buttons marked with an asterisk (*) or an (@) in the
list have already been programmed.
3. Press

4. Activate the Checksums feature as follows:
• Toggle the

softkey to turn this feature

— When the Checksum feature is
On
, you can use the buttons in the
Mattes Group to add checksum events for specific MLEs or all MLEs to the
custom control.
~ Off — When the Checksum feature is Off the buttons in the Mattes Group
perform normally.
5. Press Short or Long to select the type of checksum to perform. If you select a short
checksum, you must also:
• Use the Checksum reg knob to select which checksum register to use in
calculations. Refer to the section “ Types of Checksums ” on page 10-50 for
information on selecting checksum registers.
• Use the Input Video knob ( FE out and Vid in checksums) to select the input video
stream to use in calculations.
Note The Checksums On/Off setting does not affect how a custom
control is played back, only how it is recorded.
Note Selecting All will run checksums on each of the registers with the
video stream last selected for that register. To change video streams for
a particular checksum register, select that register specifically.
