Alpha
— Select this option when an alpha signal (also known as a “Key” signal) is
connected to the frame. Devices such as Character Generators, Graphics (Paint)
Systems, and Still Stores typically provide unique alpha signals.

Router —
Select this option when a routing switcher output is connected to
Synergy Q/MD.
You must have the
Routing Switcher Interface Software Option in order to
control the Router you are connecting to the selected Input BNC. Contact your Ross
Video Representative for more information on purchasing this option.
•
External Still —
Select this option when an external, Synergy Q/MD-controlled
Still Store output is connected to Synergy Q/MD. (Note: for use in conjunction with
the
Still Store (Aprisa) software option).
You must have the Still Store Interface Software Option in order to control the
Still Store you are connecting to the selected Input BNC. Contact your Ross Video
Representative for more information on purchasing this option.

Robotic Cam
— Select this option when a Synergy Q/MD-controlled robotic
camera controller is connected to the switcher. (Note: for use in conjunction with
the
Robotic System software option)
You must have the Robotic Camera System Interface Software Option in order
to control the Robotic Camera you are connecting to the selected Input BNC.
Contact your Ross Video Representative for more information on purchasing this
option.

Char Gen —
Select this option when a Synergy Q/MD-controlled character
generator is connected to the switcher. (Note: for use in conjunction with the
Character Generator software option)
You must have the Character Generator Interface Software Option in order to
control the Character Generator you are connecting to the selected Input BNC.
Contact your Ross Video Representative for more information on purchasing this
option.

Video
— This is the default option. Use this option unless an alpha signal,
reference signal, or a device listed above is connected to that BNC and controlled
by the switcher.
5. Use the
Video Format
knob to select the format of the input video of the associated
BNC. You can select between the following:
Note Assigning a Video Format to an Input BNC that is different than the
native video format that the switcher is operating in, can only be used
for passing non-native video formats out an
Aux Bus . Refer to the
section “ Configuring the Outputs ” on page 8-3 for more information
on assigning outputs to Aux Buses. Video formats may be converted to
the operating video format using
Smart Conversion . Refer to Chapter
13 “ SmartConversion™ ” for more information.
