BNC Configuration and Check • 7–11
•
The
Scroll Area
provides three functions that are controlled by their respective
knobs:
~
The
Tally
knob scrolls the tally list.
As you scroll through your tallies, the
Status Box
data and current BNC and type data (adjacent to the
BNC/MLE
and
Type
labels in the
Scroll Area
) tracks each tally and its associated settings.
~
The
BNC/MLE
knob selects the physical Input BNC connector, the MLE, or
the Global-Store channel that you want to assign a tally to.
~
The
Type
knob
allows you to select the type of tally required. You can choose
between the traditional “On Air” tally, a Preview tally, or a tally for any one of
the Aux Bus outputs.
3. Use the
Tally
knob to select the tally that you want to associate an Input BNC with. This
tells the switcher logic to close the selected relay circuit when the associated input
forms
part of the switcher output (as dictated by the selection made with the
Type
knob).
4. Use the
BNC/MLE
knob to select an Input BNC, MLE, or Global-Store to associate
with the tally relay. If you don’t want to associate a BNC or MLE with the tally, select
NONE
. By default, all inputs are assigned to tallies in ascending order, i.e. Tally
1
is
associated with BNC number
C01
, Tally
2
is associated with BNC number
C02
, etc.
You can only assign a tally relay to one input.
Note that you can only assign a tally relay to
one input
.
5. Use the
Type
knob to select the type of tally to assign to the MLE, BNC, or
Global-Store channel.
6. Press
HOME
to display the
Installation Change Confirmation Screen
.
7. Accept or reject the changes you have made as follows:
•
Press
Confirm
to accept the changes.
•
Press
Cancel
to exit the menus safely, without making any changes. The system
returns to the previously stored settings.
This completes the procedure for setting up tallies. Refer to the section “
page 3-32 for tally wiring instructions.
Setting Up Alphas
The
Alpha Menu
allows you to select the specific Keying mode for the selected alpha (Key) signal.
These mode selections determine how the Key is processed electronically, and how it appears
visually
.
Note
The
Tally
knob will list all 72 tallies, regardless of whether you have
the Extended Tallies option or not.
Operating
Tip
For wiring convenience, it is recommended that you make your tally
associations on a 1:1 basis (i.e. Input
C11
assigned to Tally
11
).
Note
During the procedure, refer to the
Alpha Type
column in your
Input
Worksheet
. These modes will be entered on the
Alpha Menu
for each
alpha input connected to the frame.
