4.7.5.1 General notes “Network address”
A network address is basically calcutated of an IP address and a subnet mask. The
network address is the result of a binary AND connection of the IP address and the subnet
mask:

The device (host) part is the individual part of the network address for a dedicated
device. The device part is the result of the binary AND connection of the IP address and
the inverted subnet mask:

Note: IP address range 224.0.0.0 to 239.255.255.255
This address range is restricted for specific use (multicast class D addresses) and not
usable for the Ethernet IP configuration from network A, B and C.
