2.3.2 Signaling Control
The individual connection states are controlled via the ON | OFF key, via hotkeys and
via the AT.
The available hotkeys depend on the current connection state. All possible hotkeys are
described in the following.
For background information about connection states and state transitions, refer to
chapter 2.2.7, "Connection States"
ON | OFF (key) / 1xEV-DO Signaling (Softkey)
The ON | OFF key is used to turn the forward signal transmission on or off. The current
state is shown by the softkey. The signal transmission can be switched off any time,
independent of the current connection state. A yellow hour glass symbol indicates that
the signaling generator is currently turned on or off.
The state "RDY" means that the signaling application is ready to receive an inter-RAT
handover from another signaling application (e.g. from LTE), see
on page 28 for details. This state is initiated by the application acting
as source of the handover.

While the forward signal is on, the signaling application provides a trigger signal, see
chapter 2.2.13, "Trigger Signals"

SOURce:EVDO:SIGN<i>:STATe:ALL?
Connection Control Hotkeys
Any interaction with a access terminal under test requires a 1xEV-DO forward link sig-
nal (sector). As soon as the signal is is available and the session with the AT is open
(state ON, no hour glass), connection control hotkeys appear in the hotkey bar.
The available hotkeys depend on the current connection state. These states are visual-
ized in the "Connection Status" pane of the main view.

Hotkey
Description
"Connect"
Initiate a test connection setup. *)
Session, initiated by the AT, must be open. The traffic channel is active and available
for the applications that have been assigned to a stream. As soon as the connection is
accepted at the AT, all applications are "Connected" at the same time.
"Disconnect"
Release the connection. The negotiated session remains open.
"Close Session"
Release the session.
Afterwards, the synchronized AT starts session negotiation again and a new session is
automatically initiated.
