DRC Cover ← Fwd Traffic Ch MAC Protocol
In the Variable Rate State, the access network transmits at the rate dictated by the
Data Rate Control (DRC) Channel transmitted by the access terminal. The access ter-
minal shall use either a DRC Cover index 0 or the DRC Cover index associated with a
sector in its Active Set.
The DRC cover index 0 is called the "null cover". A DRC cover that corresponds to a
sector in the access terminal Active Set is called a "sector cover". The access terminal
is said to be pointing the DRC at a sector in its Active Set if the access terminal is
using the DRC cover corresponding to that sector.

DSC Value ← Fwd Traffic Ch MAC Protocol
The DSC value is the value that the AT is to use on the Data Source Control (DSC)
channel to select the serving cell simulated by the R&S
CMW. When a session is
open, a modification of the DSC value results in a session re-negotiation. The DSC
value takes effect one slot after the end of its transmission and stays in effect for DSC
Length slots. When the DSC channel is transmitted, its power is controlled by the DSC
Channel Gain.
This setting applies to the Enhanced Forward Traffic Channel MAC Protocol (subtype
2/3) only.

DSC Channel Gain Base ← Fwd Traffic Ch MAC Protocol
The DSC Channel Gain Base sets the power of the Reverse DSC channel relative to
the power of the Reverse Pilot Channel in 0.5 dB steps. It is sent to the AT in the Traf-
fic Channel Assignment message when the AT is operating with network revision A or
B and physical layer subtype 2 or 3 is used.

DRC Length ← Fwd Traffic Ch MAC Protocol
Number of slots that the AT uses to send a single DRC value. This parameter config-
ures MAC protocol for the default forward traffic channel and enhanced forward traffic
channel. A different value can be specified for each carrier.
Multi-carrier support requires option R&S CMW-KS881.
