Fig. 3-17: OLTR Measurement Procedure
Each power step measurement is subdivided into 3 phases:
●
Reference power measurement phase
The phase between the start of the power step measurement and the next trigger
event (indicating the power step).
The "Reference Power Interval" (RPI) immediately preceding the trigger event is
used to calculate the reference power for the subsequent power step; the RPI trace
can be displayed at the GUI and retrieved via remote command. The RPI can be
configured between 5 ms and 40 ms (for all power steps). All power values are rel-
ative to the corresponding reference power.
●
OLTR evaluation interval
According to 3GPP2 C.S0011/C.S0033, the OLTR evaluation interval must be set
to a fixed time of 100 ms. Its start is marked by the trigger event.
●
Guard interval
Time between the end of the OLTR evaluation interval and the start of the next
power step measurement. Allows an imprecise DUT to complete its power adjust-
ment before the next power step measurement. The guard interval can be config-
ured up to 100 ms (for all power steps)
To obtain meaningful OLTR results, the following conditions have to be met:
●
A stable connection between BS (R&S
CMW) and DUT is established
●
The DUT's transmission is "continuous"
●
In the absence of power steps, the DUT's Tx power would be (almost) constant
The standard recommends a loopback service for 1xRTT and a reverse test applica-
tion session with constant data rates (payload size, termination target) for 1xEV-DO.
See 3GPP2 C.S0011 and C.S0033 for details.
