5.2.1 Test Setup
Connect the external RF signal source (mobile station, signal generator etc.) to one of
the bidirectional RF connectors on the front panel of the R&S
CMW.

CMW user manual, chapter "Getting Started"
5.2.2 Measuring Reverse Link Signals
After physically connecting the CDMA2000 MS to the R&S
CMW, first make sure the
long code mask of the device is set to "all zero".
Then adjust the following analyzer settings to the properties of the reverse link
CDMA2000 signal:
●
the analyzer frequency
●
the expected nominal power" and - if required - a user margin and external attenu-
ation. Recommended values: expected nominal power = peak power of the MS sig-
nal over the entire measurement range; user margin = 9 dB
●
the radio configuration and spreading factor (max. Walsh Code length)
5.2.3 Combined Signaling and Measurement
The TX measurement can be used in conjunction with the CDMA2000 signaling appli-
cation (option R&S CMW-KS800), i.e. a connection to the MS can be set up by the sig-
naling application and the resulting reverse signal can be measured using the TX mea-
surement.
To link the measurement to the signaling application, the combined signal path sce-
nario must be activated (see
). The signal routing and analyzer
settings are then controlled by the signaling application. The TX measurement displays
the corresponding signaling settings instead of its own settings. The configurable sig-
nal routing and analyzer settings of the signaling application can be modified both via
the measurement GUI and via the GUI of the signaling application. To configure the
signal routing and analyzer settings via remote commands, the commands of the sig-
naling application have to be used. For a command mapping table, see
"Combined Signal Path Commands"
To synchronize the measurement to the signaling application, select a trigger signal
provided by the signaling application as trigger source:
●
For multi-evaluation measurements the super frame trigger is recommended.
