MAC Layer - Release A (and B)
The following parameters configure the MAC layer for network release A and B (physi-
cal layer subtype 2 or 3) signals.
Currently these parameters are not supported. They will require option R&S CMW-
KS890.
Fig. 2-40: MAC layer settings for subtype 3
The following settings are specific to subtype 3 (Network Release A/B) signals.
Subtype 3 Rev Traffic Ch MAC Protocol > RRI Channel Gain
The RRI Channel Gain parameters indicate the power of the Reverse Rate Indicator
(RRI) Channel relative to the power level of the Reverse Pilot Channel for the transmit-
ted subpackets (0 to 3). The values are negotiated with the AT during Session Negotia-
tion (NEG).
The RRI Channel Gain value used by the AT depends on the transmission mode (high
capacity or low latency) and the T2P Transition Value. The R&S
CMW forces the AT
into high capacity mode for all payload sizes and sets the default T2P Transition Value
for high capacity packets. Therefore, the AT will always use the "Pre Transition 3"
value.
When a session is open, changing the RRI Channel Gain will result in a session re-
negotiation. When a connection is open, changing the gain causes the connection to
be closed.
2.3.9 Network
The "Network" parameters define properties of the simulated network and control the
access probe transmission of the AT.
