Handoff (Hotkey)
Handoff to another 1xEV-DO band class (dual-band handoff) requires an established
connection to the access terminal ("Connected" state).
When this connection state is reached the "Handoff..." hotkey appears in the hotkey
bar. "Handoff..." opens a dialog where you can select the destination band class ("Net-
work Standard"), configure the basic settings in the destination band (active AN carri-
ers, pilots and their assignment to the AT), and initiate the handoff procedure. See also
chapter 2.3.7, "System Settings"
Handoff to (and from) a multi-carrier cell requires option R&S CMW-KS881.

Make sure the active carriers don't overlap, i.e. their center frequencies have to be
separated by at least CDMA system bandwidth (1.23 MHz for band class 3 JTACS,
1.25 MHz for all other band classes). Otherwise handoff will fail.
Refer to
on page 26 for detailed information about 1xEV-DO
dual-band handoff.
