SECURITY AND LOCKS
REAR DOOR LOCK AND OPENER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. Raise the rear door glass fully.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the rear door trim. (Refer to 09-17 REAR
DOOR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4. To remove the rear door lock, remove the rear
door glass guide. (Refer to 09-12 REAR DOOR
GLASS AND GUIDE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
5. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
6. Install in the reverse order of removal.

REAR DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR INSPECTION
Note
• The rear door lock actuator is built in the rear
door lock.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the rear door trim. (Refer to 09-17 REAR
DOOR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Partially peel off the rear door screen.
4. Disconnect the rear door lock actuator connector.
5. Apply battery positive voltage to the rear door lock
actuator terminals and check the operation of the
rear door lock actuator.

6. If not as specified, replace the rear door lock.
