DRIVE SHAFT
JOINT SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Drain the transaxle oil. (Refer to 0 5 -1 5 TRANSAXLE OIL REPLACEMENT.) (Refer to 05-17 A AUTOMATIC
TRANSAXLE FLUID REPLACEMENT.) (Refer to 0 5 -1 7B AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID
REPLACEMENT.)
2. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
3. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Right Drive Shaft and Axle Removal Note
1. Remove the clinch bolt and nut.
2. Wrap a rag around the ball joint dust boot.
3. Pry the lower arm out of the knuckle.
4. Separate the right side drive shaft from the joint
shaft by hammering on a bar inserted between
them.
