Two connector pins are located on the front panel. The pin is on ground level. The
pin supplies a square wave signal with 1 kHz for low frequency probe compensa-
tion.
1. Connect the BNC connector of the probe to one of the channel inputs.
2. Connect the probe's ground connector to the ground compensation pin, and the
probe tip to the signal pin.
3. Press [Autoset].
A square wave appears on the display.
4. Adjust the compensation trimmer of the probe to optimum square wave response.
For details, refer to the documentation of your probe.

Setting up the signal input with autoset
Autoset is the solution for the major part of routine test-setup. It is also a good start if
you need to use more complex trigger settings. Autoset finds appropriate horizontal
and vertical scales, vertical offset, and trigger conditions to present a stable waveform.
1. Connect the probe to the input connector [C<n>].
The instrument recognizes the probe and turns on the channel.
2. Press the [Autoset] key.

Adjusting the signal input manually
1. Connect the probe to the input connector [C<n>].
The instrument recognizes the probe and turns on the channel.
2. Open "Menu" > "Horizontal" > "Setup" tab.
3. Set the "Time scale".
4. If you want to analyze the signal some time before or after the trigger, use the
"Position" and "Reference point" to adjust the visible section of the waveform.
5. Press the channel button corresponding to the input channel. It is illuminated with
the color of the channel waveform.
6. Open the "Menu" > "Vertical" > "Setup" tab.
