power-on reset (which switches to a slower clock during startup) lets the repair
algorithm finish and the device boot successfully again.
Attention: The ALSE repair algorithm was designed to recover the device after a
reset during erase caused by an accidental loss of power. Any other
possible cause of resets must be prevented by the customer.
When the ALSE repair algorithm is not needed (e.g. because an ABM boot mode is
used) then it can be switched off with the ALSEDIS bits in UCB1 (see
, on
). Each bit 0 – 7 of ALSEDIS corresponds to
one logical sector. If this bit is configured to 1 the logical sector is not repaired. If bits 0–3
of ALSEDIS are set to F
H
then the physical sector PS0 is not checked for an over-erased
state during startup. The same with bits 4-7 for physical sector PS4.
When the ALSE repair algorithm is not needed it is recommended to switch if off
completely by configuring the ALSEDIS to FF
H
.
The ALSEDIS feature is only available in the TC1784 from µCode version V1.2 on.
