Starting the Analyzer, Shutdown
To start the analyzer, proceed as follows:
1. Make sure that the instrument is connected to the AC power supply and the power switch on
the rear panel is in position I (On).
2. If necessary, press the STANDBY toggle switch on the front panel to switch the instrument to
ready state (the green LED is on).
In ready state, the analyzer automatically performs a system check, boots the Windows XP Embedded
operating system and then starts the network analyzer (NWA) application. If the last analyzer session
was terminated regularly, the NWA application uses the last setup with all instrument settings.
To shut down the analyzer, proceed as follows:
1. Press the STANDBY key to save the current setup, close the NWA application, shut down
Windows XP Embedded and set the instrument to standby state. Of course you can also
perform this procedure step by step like in any Windows session.
2. If desired, set the AC power switch to position 0 (Off).
Attention!
It is strongly recommended to switch the analyzer to standby state before
disconnecting it from the AC supply. If you set the power switch to 0 while the
NWA application is still running, you will lose the current settings. Moreover, loss of
program data can not be excluded if the application is terminated improperly.
