Contents of Chapter 1
This chapter gives an overview of the front panel controls and connectors of the R&S ZVA, R&S ZVB,
and R&S ZVT vector network analyzers and gives all information that is necessary to put the
instruments into operation and connect external devices. Notes on reinstallation of the analyzer
software appear at the end of the chapter.
In view of the differences between the three network analyzer types, they are described in separate
sections:

Information about the R&S ZVA network analyzer starts on the following sheet.
•
Information about the R&S ZVB network analyzer starts after the first colored divider.
•
Information about the R&S ZVT network analyzer starts after the second colored divider.
The application examples in Chapter 2 and the following chapters are based on a R&S ZVA, which is
the instrument with the most comprehensive functionality. Most of the features are also available on a
R&S ZVB and on a R&S ZVT that is controlled from the Graphical User Interface displayed on an
external monitor.
