UPS Installation for SCC1 EPN A-Carrier
Cabinet
This section describes the procedure for connecting the Series 1 On-Line Uninterruptible Power System
(UPS) to an SCC1 EPN cabinet. The UPS maintains critical A-carrier ports for about 14 minutes during a
power outage. It also provides information on wiring, administering, and documenting alarms, which
allows remote monitoring of power and UPS problems.
There are two configurations for connecting a UPS to an SCC1 cabinet:
•
UPS connection for fiber-remoted SCC1 EPN
•
UPS connection for DS1-remoted SCC1 EPN and associated Channel Service Unit (CSU).
