This optional step is to make sure the links are in service before and after the upgrade.

Type
display communication-interface links
and press Enter. Write down all enabled links.

Type
status link
number
and press Enter for each enabled link.

Write down which links are enabled and in service.
NOTE:
If any links are enabled and out of service, resolve the problem before continuing the
upgrade.

Type
list signaling group
and press Return.
Note the signaling groups listed by number.

For each of the signaling groups listed, type
status signaling group
<number>
and press
Return.

If any of the links are not up, take the necessary corrective action to restore the link before
continuing with the upgrade.

NOTE:
Duplicated translations must match exactly or the command fails.

Execute
status system 1
before you save translations.

Verify that conditions are normal (this can take as long as 5 to 10 minutes). If the system refuses
to go into a normal condition, refer to the maintenance procedures; if that fails, escalate the
problem.

Ensure that the translation card (ATA) is in the TN2401 (Netcon/Pkt Intf) circuit pack’s card slot.

Type
save translation
and press Return to write all translations from memory to the translation
flashcard (about 10 minutes).
The screen goes blank. This is normal.
NOTE:
Do not press any keyboard key until after the system displays the status (success or
failure) message. If you press Return again, you will not see the status message.
