Maintenance and inspection
The inverter is a static unit mainly consisting of semiconductor devices. Daily inspection must be per-
formed to prevent any fault from occurring due to the adverse effects of the operating environment,
such as temperature, humidity, dust, dirt and vibration, changes in the parts with time, service life, and
other factors.
8.1 Inspection
8.1.1 Daily
inspection
Basically, check for the following faults during operation:
●
Motor operation fault
●
Improper installation environment
●
Cooling system fault
●
Unusual vibration and noise
●
Unusual overheat and discoloration
8.1.2 Periodic
inspection
Check the areas inaccessible during operation and requiring periodic inspection.
Consult your sales representative for periodic inspection.
●
Check for cooling system fault . . . . . . . . . . Clean the air filter, etc.
●
Tightening check and retightening . . . . .The screws and bolts may become loose due to vibra-
tion, temperature changes, etc.
Tighten them according to the specified tightening
torque. (Refer to page 3-10.)
●
Check the conductors and insulating materials for corrosion and damage.
●
Measure insulation resistance.
●
Check and change the cooling fan and relay.
When using the safety stop function, periodic inspection is required to confirm that safety function of
the safety system operates correctly.
For more details, refer to the Safety stop function instruction manual (BCN-A211508-004).
(Please contact your sales representative for the manual.)
P
WARNING:
Wait for a period of well over 10 minutes after disconnecting from the power supply before
performing any service work on the frequency inverter. This is necessary so that the capacitors
can discharge down to a safe level (< 25 V) after disconnection of the mains power. Check the
voltage across the main circuit terminals P/+ and N/– (+ and – respectively) of the inverter using a
tester.
