3. DIRECT INTERNAL CALL TO THE VP 300
This test verifies that the VP 300 processes a direct internal call correctly.
A. From phone A, call the extension number for VP 300 access, that is, the access number
of the MIC ports’ hunt group. Does the VP 300 answer with, “To enter your mailbox
press pound…”?
NO

Determine the cause and correct the problem before continuing.
B. Dial
9 9
to exit from the VP 300 and hang up phone A.
4. INTERNAL CALL TO A RING-NO-ANSWER EXTENSION
This test verifies that the VP 300 correctly processes a call forwarded from a ring-no-
answer extension.
A. Make sure phone B is on-hook.
B. From phone A, call phone B. Does phone B start to ring?

Determine the cause and correct the problem before continuing.
C. Do not answer phone B. After the duration specified by the PBX System Option for
Call Forwarding Don’t Answer Time-out, does phone B stop ringing?
NO

Determine the cause and correct the problem before continuing.
D. After phone B stops ringing, does the VP 300 respond with the prompt, “Extension
EXT-B is unavailable. Please leave a private message at the tone…”?

E. While still connected to the VP 300, enter the mailbox number for mailbox B (this
should match the extension number of phone B). Does the VP 300 respond with the
prompt, “Thank you. Just a moment…” and does phone B start to ring again?

F. After the duration specified by the PBX System Option for Call Forwarding Don’t
Answer Time-out, does the VP 300 respond with, “Extension EXT-B is unavailable.

5. INTERNAL CALL TO A BUSY EXTENSION
This test verifies that the VP 300 correctly processes a call forwarded from a busy
extension.
A. Take phone B off-hook so that it appears busy.
B. From phone A, call phone B. Does the VP 300 answer with the prompt, “Extension
EXT-B is unavailable. Please leave a private message at the tone…”?
